The four of us came together with a single purpose, to contribute to human well-being through our Community Development project. We begin our journey with a sense of urgency and passionate drive to make a team effort so that we can be of service to the needs of our community in the best way possible.

We carefully considered community causes in which to support. However, when we heard Daron's story and reflected on our personal experiences with mental health, we felt a strong need to bring awareness to youth mental health. We plan to partner with the D.I.F.D youth mental health foundation to continue raising awareness about an issue affecting many and help support the cause.

Working in partnership with this movement for mental health will allow us to work hard for a cause we believe in because the seriousness of mental health in today's world affects nearly everyone from youth, adults and seniors.

This morning we emailed Lauren Merkley, Officer, Community Partnerships & Events Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health, to schedule a meeting and discuss the opportunity to contribute and raise awareness for D.I.F.D. Moreover, we met on campus to brainstorm ideas on what we could do to raise money for the cause. In our meeting, we discussed fundraising ideas such as bottle drives, partnerships with local businesses, social media pages, bake sales, social events, etc.

On this week's work plan, we will follow up with Lauren and establish a date and time for us to meet up with her via zoom or in person. This weekend the four of us will start to take our ideas and draft an action plan for our funding ideas.
