Community Developers Welcomes You

"But even with the inspiration of others, it's understandable that we sometimes think the world's problem are so big that we can do little to help. On our own, we cannot end wars or wipe out injustice, but the cumulative impact of thousands of small acts of goodness can be bigger than we imagine."

-Queen Elizabeth II-

Our Cause

Do It For Daron

Do It For Daron (DIFD) supports education, awareness, and research initiatives at The Royal that encourage young people to talk openly about mental illness and to ask for help when needed.

The purple DIFD heart, a creation inspired by Daron’s favourite colour, has become the youth-driven symbol of this movement.

Our Background

How We Got Here

We are four college students currently enrolled in the Recreation and Leisure Services Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa Ontario. As a part of our Community Development class, we were asked to partner with a volunteer organization. We wanted to ensure that we chose an impacted community we all resonated with, and decided on an organization we knew would make a difference. Our passion for recreation and our communities is what inspires us to make the necessary changes around us.
